Royal Visit 09/10/2008
HRH The Duke of York visited the Templeborough works site of ELG Haniel Metals Ltd on Thursday 9th October 2008.
The visit comes as a result of ELG winning the Queens Award for Enterprise in 2006, as a result of the innovative decision to install a Shredding Machine specifically designed to shred Stainless Steel Scrap, coupled with five years of continuous growth in volumes and increases in profitability.
The Duke was given a comprehensive tour of the main processing yard, the Shredder itself and the laboratary. To mark the visit, the Duke unveiled a commemorative plaque and signed the visitors book.
Jeremy Edmiston, MD said "we were thrilled to have a member of the Royal Family visit our site to learn more about our business. We were able to demonstrate to him that our sector of the manufacturing supply chain in the 'Steel City' is going from strength to strength".
ELG ACQUIRES SHEARER MORMET LTD - 01/10/2008 With effect from 1st October 2008, Shearer Mormet Ltd in Glasgow was acquired by ELG Haniel Metals Ltd, the UK arm of the global ELG Haniel Group. The acquisition will strengthen ELG’s capabilities as a leading supplier of raw materials to the Steel Industry.
